How to find the AREA OF A TRIANGLE

The area of a triangle can be calculated using the formula:

A = (1/2) * b * h

where:

  • A is the area of the triangle in square units
  • b is the length of the triangle’s base in units
  • h is the height of the triangle in units. Height is always perpendicular to the base.

The area of a triangle equals the total of the space found within the triangle. Area is measured in square units with the SI unit of measurement is meters squared.

height of triangle

The height of a triangle is the perpendicular distance from the vertex to the base of the triangle. It can be calculated using the formula:

height = (2 * area of triangle) / base

where:

  • height is the height of the triangle
  • area is the area of the triangle
  • base is the length of the base of the triangle
