Let’s work through 168 as our example.
Multiply the last digit by 2
8 x 2 = 16
Subtract this number from the remaining digits which equals 16.
16 – 16 = 0
Because this value is 0 the entire number is divisible by 7
24 x 7 = 168
Another example.
Is 224 divisible by 7?
4 x 2 = 8
The remaining number is 22
22 – 8 = 14
14 is divisible by 7 therefore 224 is divisible by 7.
32 x 7 = 224
